Insitu uses quadcopter to release and recover ScanEagle in midair

Insitu has came up with a new concept to give the ScanEagle UAS an ability to be launched and recovered without the need for a catapult or sky hook.

The Flying Launch and Recovery System (FLARES) uses a quadcopter to lift the ScanEagle high up in the air and then releases it. To recover the drone, the quadcopter will tow a cable for the drone to hook on.
