The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG), currently underway to the Middle East, may launch airstrikes from the Mediterranean rather then waiting till it reaches the Gulf.
Three officials said European Command, Naval Forces Europe, Central Command and the Office of the Secretary of Defense have discussed the possibility of keeping HSTCSG in the Mediterranean for a few more days.
