The Russian Ministry of Defense says a Marine was killed after the Mi-8 helicopter he was in was shot by small arms fire during the search-and-rescue operation to locate two Su-24 pilots in Syria.
According to the spokesman, the Su-24 was shot down by an IR-homing air-to-air missile.
