It was South African Rooivalks that attacked rebels in DRC

The United Nations peacekeeping force in Democratic Republic of the Congo had dispatched South African Rooivalk attack helicopters to carry out air strikes on rebel positions on Dec. 1.

MONUSCO decided to launch attacks against the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) after the latter attacked UN bases on Nov. 29. A Malawian peacekeeper and 31 civilians were killed by those attacks.
