USAF wants 100 LRS-Bs

How many Long Range Strike-Bombers (LRS-B) does the U.S. Air Force wish to acquire? One hundred, was the figure given by Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James at the National Press Club on Dec. 2.

There were calls from lawmakers and analysts to increase the number of bombers beyond 100 after the contract was awarded to Northrop Grumman.

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Moeller suggested getting 200 bombers as having less than that figure would “decrease the options available to national decision-makers during times of crisis or periods of instability.”
