Indonesia Air Force deployed 24 fighter aircraft for air operations doctrine test

Every single type of combat aircraft in the Indonesian Air Force inventory was activated in an air operations doctrine test at the ​​Air Weapon Range Pandanwangi, Lumajang, East Java on Dec. 3.

Twenty-four combat aircraft took on different roles during this exercise. Su-27s and Su-30s had to suppress enemy air defenses using rockets. The target was then destroyed by four Su-27s and four T-50Is. A total of 32 bombs were expanded.

Four F-16s took on the sweeper role to clear the skies of enemy aircraft while the strike package was protected by three F-16s and four BAE Hawks.

A simulated combat search-and rescue exercise saw three Super Pumas rescuing a downed pilot. Close air support came from Super Tucanos armed with Mark 81 bombs.
