Two times Red Bull Air Race champion and former F-4 pilot killed in L-39 accident

Mike Mangold, who won the Red Bull Air Race World Championship twice in 2005 and 2007 was killed in a L-39 accident on Dec. 6.

Eye witnesses say the L-39 flown by the former USAF F-4 pilot exploded on the runway at Apple Valley Airport after its engine caught fire.
