U.S. willing to provide Apaches to help Iraq retake Ramadi from ISIL

U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the Pentagon is willing to provide Apache helicopters to help Iraq reclaim Ramadi city from ISIL.

“The United States is prepared to assist the Iraqi Army with additional unique capabilities to help them finish the job, including attack helicopters and accompanying advisers, if requested by Prime Minister Abadi,” Carter said.

AH-64s are currently deployed in Iraq to protect U.S. forces stationed there.
