This clears the way for General Electric to uprate the F414-GE-INS6, selected by India to power the Tejas Mk II, to “”Enhanced Performance Engine” standard which has a new core and a redesigned fan and compressor.

The improved engine will be available for India’s indigenous fifth-generation fighter, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA).
