Hagel was ready to launch Tomahawks into Syria but Obama override him

Former U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told Foreign Policy that on Aug. 30, 2013, he was close to authorizing a strike against Syria using Tomahawk cruise missiles when President Obama phoned him during dinner time and told him to stand down.
