India is still trying to determine what went wrong with its indigenous Nirbhay cruise missile two months after it had failed during a flight test.

A source privy of the development said the cruise missile was tested even when many sub-systems were not ready.
“On the day of trial, software self-test displayed some errors which delayed the launch. Despite red flag by software team, they went ahead and failed in the mission. Safety of the system, quality of subsystems and reliability of the build components, everything was compromised,” according to the source.
