Russia to launch at least one early warning satellite this year

Rambler News Service reported on Jan. 3 that Russia will send at least one new-generation missile defense early warning satellite to detect missile launches this year.

The first satellite, EKS-1, was lifted into space orbit by a Soyuz 2-1B rocket from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Russia on Nov. 17, 2015.
