An anonymous source told TASS that the Ka-52 attack helicopter will be deployed to Syria for perimeter security at Humaymin Air Base in Latakia.

The same source says the helicopters will be protected by the L370 Vitebsk defensive aids suite.
This will be the first combat deployment for the Ka-52 and it will complement the Mi-24P and Mi-35M helicopters already in the theater.
