F-35C created sonic booms that was heard from southern New Jersey to Long Island, New York

Folks staying on the East Coast of United States were startled by sonic booms on Jan. 28 as a F-35C carried out flight tests over the Atlantic test range off the coast of New Jersey.

The United States Geological Survey said on its website that at least nine sonic booms were recorded over approximately one and a half hours.

Some residents living in South Jersey and parts of New York state called the local police department thinking they were earthquakes.
