The Indian Navy has deployed one of its P-8I maritime patrol aircraft to Seychelles to help the latter monitor its vast Exclusive Economic Zone in the Indian Ocean.

Both countries have an agreement where by Indian will help Seychelles monitor its Exclusive Economic Zone. Previously, this task was carried out by ships from the Indian Navy. This is the first time the P-8I is involved.
