The U.S. Navy has certified the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) command center aboard USS Carl Vinson, making the aircraft carrier the first to do so.

The UAV ready room was installed during USS Carl Vinson’s recent Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) in San Diego.
Capt. Beau Duarte, program manager of Unmanned Carrier Aviation program office (PMA-268), said the milestone “marks the start of a phased implementation of the MQ-XX system on an aircraft carrier.”
