Appearing before the U.S. Senate Armed Services seapower committee, Deputy Commandant of the Marine Corps for Aviation Lt. Gen. Jon Davis told lawmakers that his service’s F-35Bs are not affected by a software bug that causes the APG-81 radar to reset in flight.

Davis explained that the bug appeared in the new version of the 3I software and the combat-coded jets with VMFA-121 are not loaded with that code.
The Marine F-35s aren’t affected by any of the 900+ deficiencies because they don’t go near combat like most other jet fighters in the inventory do. There aren’t many bad guys in Yuma, except maybe some of those Canadian snowbirds in their large RV’s, and you don’t need radar to see them.
