Flight Global interviewed Hirofumi Doi, manager of Japan’s Future Fighter Program at the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA), and Doi said the X-2 demonstrator will fly around 50 flights.
The first flight saw the aircraft climbing to 12,000ft and accelerating to 200 knots.
The second flight, expected this week, will see the test pilot raising the undercarriage and pushing it to higher speeds.
