U.S. Central Command requested and got approval for the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (CSG) to remain on station in the Middle East for another 30 days.

This means the carrier and her escorts, which departed Norfolk in November 2015, will spend more than seven months at sea for this cruise.
The original plan was for this CSG to become the first to go on a seven-month deployment since the goal was announced in 2014.
