The Gripens will now be able to employ the Meteor air-to-air missile plus the GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb (SDB).
Pilots are offered better protection with the inclusion of a Ground Collision Avoidance System and enhanced chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear shielding.
