Slovakia’s new government has rejected an offer from Sweden for the lease of six JAS 39Cs and two JAS 39Ds. Defense Minister criticized the deal which he said the asking price was unacceptable.

The offer was made in December 2015 and the previous government also balked at the price but promise to restart negotiations following elections in March. However, voters voted in a new coalition government and the Ministry of Defense post was given to another party.
