The E-2C that suffered an internal fire while aboard USS Ronald Reagan on Oct. 18, 2015 will be shipped back to the United States for repairs on the flight deck of a carrier.

Placing the early warning aircraft on a flight deck during the long transit home will expose it to elements of weather, further damaging the aircraft. Thus, the service chose Mr. Shrinkwrap to wrap the massive plane in layers of shrink film to protect it.
Two of the company’s installation experts took three days to complete the job in Japan. The biggest challenge for them was to shrink warp the 24-foot rotodome.
