After numerous trips to the Mediterranean, Russia’s sole aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov will finally see combat this year when she will sail to Syria and launch airstrikes off its coast.

The ship will bring 15 Su-33 and MiG-29K/KUB fighters for its next voyage and during the bombing campaign, the naval fighter pilots will closely co-ordinate the air strikes with their air force counterparts based in Latakia, Syria.
The cruise is to start in October and end in January.
