Despite being pummeled from the air and sea, Perry-class frigate refuses to sink immediately
Aircraft and ships from Australia, South Korea and United States participating in the Rim of the Pacific 2016 exercise took turns to hit decommissioned Perry-class frigate USS Thach (FFG 43) with various weapons during a sinking exercise (SINKEX) 55 nautical miles north of Kauai, Hawaii.
South Korean media to visit THAAD unit in Guam
To give South Koreans a better understanding on the workings of the THAAD air defense system. The Pentagon is organizing a tour for South Korean media to Guam to see one of the battery deployed on the island today.

Two Patriots, one air-to-air missile failed to shoot down Syrian-origin UAV
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) had managed to penetrate 4km into Israeli airspace on Jul. 17 before returning back to Syria.
