Despite being pummeled from the air and sea, Perry-class frigate refuses to sink immediately

Aircraft and ships from Australia, South Korea and United States participating in the Rim of the Pacific 2016 exercise took turns to hit decommissioned Perry-class frigate USS Thach (FFG 43) with various weapons during a sinking exercise (SINKEX) 55 nautical miles north of Kauai, Hawaii.

Despite getting damaged by weapons fired from airplanes and ships, the hull refuses to sink immediately and the ship only went to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean at 7:25 p.m. local time.
