Capt. Christy Wise, a 71st Rescue Squadron pilot, is the first female amputee of the U.S. Air Force to be re-qualified for pilot duties. She is the sixth amputee to do so.

Wise says the most difficult part to return to the cockpit was the fitness test as running as an above-the-knee amputee is challenging. Nevertheless, she aced the test in February.
