Over a period of five years, the helicopters will make their way to Russian Helicopters’ facility in Kumertau to be overhauled to extend their life-span.

Upon return to India, they will be upgraded with new avionics at naval air station Dega by Russian technicians as Russia is barred from importing Western defense equipment.
