French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian was in Kuwait on Aug. 9 to sign an agreement to sell 30 Airbus H225M helicopters to the Gulf State for approximately $1.1 billion.

Twenty-four of those helicopters will be assigned to the Kuwaiti Army for transport plus search and rescue missions. Six more will be given to the Kuwait National Guard.
