KC-46A cleared for production

U.S. Under secretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics, Frank Kendall, has signed off the Boeing KC-46A aerial refueling tanker for low-rate initial production.

Within the next 30 days, the Pentagon will award the first two low rate initial production lots, totaling 19 aircraft, to Boeing.

The first aircraft deliveries will be to McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas, and Altus AFB, Oklahoma.
