50th anniversary of Operation Yahalom

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Operation Yahalom, a bold plan by Israel to have a Iraqi MiG-21 pilot defect to Israel along with his aircraft.

The Israeli Air Force interviewed Brig. Gen. (Res’) Yesha’ayahu (Shayke) Barka, who was Head of the IAF’s Intelligence Directorate at the time of the operation and knew the pilot, Munir Radfa, very well.
