Taiwan will use its IDF and Mirage 2000 fighters for three live air-to-air firing exercises starting from today over the Taiwan Strait.

From Sept. 19-23, IDF fighters from Taichung will hold their live firing exercise at restricted area R11 and from Sept. 26-30, Mirage 2000s from Hsinchu air base will be practicing over restricted area R9. Both units will repeat the live firings again together from Oct. 3-14.
The exercise is significant as the exercise areas border the so-called “middle line” over the Taiwan Strait.
