Saab will set up an office in Manila, Philippines by this year as part of a sales campaign to sell its Gripen fighter to the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

Currently those are done through Saab’s regional headquarters in Thailand.
Carl-Erik Leek, Saab’s executive vice-president in the Asia Pacific, told Jane’s his company sees good prospect in selling the fighter to the Philippine Air Force to meet its Flight Plan 2028 requirement for 12 fighter aircraft.
