The probe by India’s Central Bureau of Investigation found that Embraer had paid $5.5 million to a middle man to swing the contract to the latter’s favor in the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s (DRDO) Airborne Early Warning and Control System (AEWACS) project.

With this information, the bureau has sufficient evidence to initiate a full investigation, Economic Times reported.
