The former site of a Imperial Japanese Army flight school in Tokyo that drafted thousands of teenagers to fight the war as fighter pilots has been converted into a exhibit hall.

After the war, former pilots donated materials such as photographs and letters to the city of Musashimurayama. The supporters tried for many years to get the city to open a facility to exhibit these items.
The project started to gain traction after Taka Ikeya, a former school employee, donated land to the city so that a building can be erected.
