Lockheed Martin willing to help MHI develop new Japanese fighter

In an interview with The Nikkei, Lockheed Martin President Marillyn Hewson disclosed that her company has responded to a request for information from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) on jointly developing a new fighter for Japan.

Hewson added that Lockheed Martin will participate in a second round of RFI by Japan’s Ministry of Defense next year.

The Nikkei also said that Boeing has proposed to work the MHI on the new fighter program.
