A Turkish historian has claimed that fifty FW190 A-3 warbirds have been buried under Kayseri airport since 1947.

Uluhan Hasdal said the United States wanted the planes destroyed as a condition for selling its used warplanes to Turkey.
Turkey had obtained 72 FW190s and fifty of them were flown Kayseri to be buried and struck off from the inventory.
