The Israeli government has approved the purchase of 17 more F-35As from Lockheed Martin. This brings the total number of aircraft ordered to 50.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement that the decision by the cabinet on Nov. 27 was unanimous.
The decision comes as the nation prepares to receive its first pair of F-35As on Dec. 12.
