The final French Navy Triomphant-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) that requires modifications so that it can launch the M51 submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) is now at dock 8 of the naval base in Brest.
DCNS will now spend the next 18 months working on Le Téméraire. Some 140 km of cables have to be laid and 60 tons of engine seatings to be welded.
The French defense company will also take the opportunity to update the boat’s navigation and combat systems.
