Indian Air Force chief went solo on MiG-21

Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa, took one of the oldest MiG-21 in the inventory for a solo flight lasting half an hour on Jan. 12.


Flying out of Air Force Station Utarlai, near Barmer in Rajasthan, Dhanoa wanted to send a clear message that the aircraft is still safe to fly despite numerous crashes over the years.
