Deputy Commandant for Aviation, Lt. Gen. Jon Davis, said the AV-8B fleet had seen a 23 percent increase in ready base aircraft, which means there are more operational-ready Harriers than before.
Once VMFA-122 completes its transition to the new aircraft in 2018, the unit will relocate to MCAS Yuma.
