Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is asking General Electric to conduct a study for an “F414-GE-400 core enhancement evaluation,” Flight Global reports.

NAVAIR said briefly that it wants to find out how any upgrade to the power plant “could improve engine performance, as well as F/A-18E/F and EA-18G performance.”
