Indonesia’s top military commander, Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo, has confirmed to Antara News that the AW101 helicopter that was delivered to the country earlier this year did not meet specifications as it lack a ramp.

The military had wanted a helicopter that can fulfill troop transport and search-and-rescue duties and thus wanted a ramp at the rear. However, the AW101 was configured for VVIP transport and therefore, the ramp was omitted.
