Japan hopes to partner with U.S. to export used military aircraft to S.E. Asia

In an exclusive interview with Defense News, Takahiro Yoshida, director of Aircraft Project Management division in the Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency within Japan’s Ministry of Defense, said Tokyo hopes to collaborate with the United States for the sale of used military aircraft to South East Asia.

Building on the success of leasing the TC-90 to Philippines, Yoshida said his country is hoping to transfer helicopters and other types of aircraft.

However, he refused to discuss which countries are in talks for the program.
