A U.S. Navy F/A-18E made an emergency landing at Bahrain International Airport Aug. 12 but the pilot was forced to eject after the plane departed the runway.
The aircraft from VFA-146 had departed USS Nimitz when an engine malfunctioned. It was diverted to Sheik Isa Air Base, Bahrain but was not able to make it there and turn towards Bahrain International Airport.
