Chinook said to be front-runner in Israel’s heavy-lift helicopter competition

Flight Global is reporting that the Israel Defense Force is giving preference to the Boeing CH-47 helicopter to replacing its aging CH-53.

Also running in the competition is the Sikorsky CH-53K. However, the Army has indicated that it prefers the CH-47.
