JF-17 to get Chinese KLJ-7A AESA radar

A researcher from China’s Nanjing Research Institute of Electronics Technology says the JF-17 in service with Pakistan will be upgraded with the institute’s KLJ-7A Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar.

Hu Mingchun said the “radar is capable of tracking dozens of targets and engaging several of them simultaneously. It also has a good jamming-resistant capacity that keeps the plane away from enemy’s electronic interference.”
