A F-16 assigned to the 80th Fighter Squadron of the U.S. Air Force was forced to turn back for an emergency landing after take off from RAAF Base Darwin on Jul. 30. The pilot had to jettison a fuel tank in the process.

A spokesperson from the Australian Defense Force said the jet had suffered “an engine malfunction.”
