The Indian Air Force has complained that Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) proposal for supply of 83 Tejas fighters is non-compliant with the tender requirements.

The proposal was only valid for 12 months while the tender specifications called for 18 months.
The ferry range and endurance was found to be outside the parameters required as well.
The service was also unhappy with the delivery schedule HAL proposed.
