Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu visited the Irkutsk aviation plant on Jan. 30 and he had a closeup look at a modernized Su-30SM.

The first modernized Su-30SM is being prepared for test flights. There will be a total of three aircraft in the flight test program.
Head of the company’s assembly and test production, Andrey Balchugov, told reporters that by end of the year, all Su-30s will be manufactured without French or Israeli parts.
