Leonardo is expected to compete against Lockheed Martin to supply the South Korean navy with a second batch of anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopters.
The tender process started on May 2 and will end on Aug. 16.
South Korea was prepared to buy another 12 AW159 helicopters when two biddings last year saw no competitors participating. However, Lockheed Martin secured approved in November to export the MH-60R to South Korea.
